Sick

Well, folks, I'm sick.

sick-girl_032909

I'm coughing, sneezing, sore throat, congested, dizziness, full-on yuckiness sick. And there's no rest for the wicked. I'm heading into the MAC (Multnomah Athletic Club) to bartend tonight. The MAC is the oldest, biggest (550,000 square feet) and most exclusive Sports Club in the nation. I bartend in the Men's Bar. (And yes, women are allowed in. Now.)

I never get sick. What's going on? Perhaps I'm just running myself ragged. I do have a lot on my plate:

Jobs (ie the things I actually get paid for)

  • Back to Eden
  • The MAC

Writing

  • Blog
  • Yelp
  • The Examiner
  • Culture Mob
  • Demand Studios

Planning

  • Modified Style 10
  • Vegan Exquisite Dinner Series
  • Big Awesome event for this Fall, TBA
  • My 30th Birthday Party: Feb 27th (My 30th Birthday is February 28th--Gah!)
  • Rob's Beach Getaway Birthday Party (March)
  • My trip to New York ( in 5 days)

Misc

  • Recipe testing for Happy Herbivore's cookbook
  • Moving
  • Working with Laura from Yea Camp on social networking/marketing
  • Tweeting
  • Un-baking for the Haiti Bake Sale this Sunday
  • Socializing

As backwards as it sounds, maybe New York will actually be relaxing!? :D

I love having a busy schedule and am really happy to be working on all of these projects; that's why I've taken them on. That's why I'm frustrated that I'm sick; I need more time (and energy) to keep on working! How can I tell my body to get better? What does it need? tea? vitamin C? Pho? All of the above?

And if any New Yorkers want to meet up while Rob and I are there, send me an email.

***Windows Live Writer isn't letting me insert links, so there's nothing clickable in here. Sorry!

Okay, I'm off to take a nap and dream about pho before work. Night night.

2 important things

I want to tell you about this place. It's called Liberty Glass. It is a purple house that sits atop the hill of Mississippi Avenue. I've been there 3 times in the last 24 hours. This bar/restaurant/cozy oasis is my new home away from home. If you live in Portland, go there. If you don't live here (come visit!), then maybe you should think about moving here (Hi Anna!) just for places like this. It's cozy and sweet and homey and a bar with delicious veg*n food (they have meat here too, for those of you who eat that stuff) and sweet sweet sassy servers.

Also, I want to tell you about YELP. For those of you who don't utilize this website, you should start. It's in every major city. Come here to read reviews, to write reviews, to post pictures and events coming up, to look for people to meet--it's like a Craigslist meets CitySearch meets Facebook. But better. Check it out.

That's all. I had a wonderful weekend--lots of biking, eating, drinking, napping, getting passport pictures taken (MUCH cuter this time!) and cleaning. Headed back to work tomorrow.

My best friend Abby gets back from Mexico this week and my mom and little brother Jesse are coming up to visit too! Busy week!
